Flint city officials will demolish a fire-damaged church on Saginaw Street because crumbling walls and falling bricks pose a safety hazard—community block dollars will cover nearly $200,000 in emergency demolition costs. The project will also salvage and refurbish the church’s intact bell—helping preserve a piece of the building’s history.

Chef Andre Rush—celebrity chef and military veteran—led culinary events for Mott Community College students on Wednesday with a Future Chef's Lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a book signing at the Capitol Theatre, and will finish the Distinguished Chef Series with the Hands That Feed the Future Gala tonight.

Troopers responded to a drive-by shooting on Perry Street in Flint at around 6:45 p.m. on April 1st and arrested four suspects from a Chevrolet Blazer on Dupont Street — seizing illegal firearms including five fully automatic guns — while a victim was hit by gunfire.
