  • Catholic Charities and the Shelter of Flint have run nighttime warming centers for a month to shelter people during cold winter months—this year adding a dedicated space for women and children as repairs closed the North End Soup Kitchen option; the centers face challenges from rising unhoused numbers and illness.  Mid-Michigan Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Flint Community Players is presenting the plays 'Champagne Problems' and 'LAM'. Tickets and show times are available on the company website, and the performances offer local theater fans a chance to experience engaging culture on stage.  ABC 12

HEALTH NEWS

  • Free anger management sessions for adults start Saturday, Jan. 10, at Gloria Coles Flint Public Library. Hosted by Well of Hope and Life Support Counseling and Resources, the six-week group meets Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes skill-building activities (completers get a $25 Visa gift card).  Flint Beat

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Chelsie Welch and Corey Cunningham have transformed Auker Mansion — a 20,000 sqft property built in 1971 — into a wedding venue in Grand Blanc and plan to host events this summer while renovations continue.  Mid-Michigan Now
