- ➤ The Mott Foundation announced plans to grant $2 billion over the next decade, with more than 60% directed to Flint. The plan includes up to $100 million for reducing childhood poverty and improving water safety, and further details will be shared in upcoming community events. MLive
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ American Signature Inc. filed for bankruptcy on Monday, Jan. 12, triggering going-out-of-business sales at Value City Furniture stores in Michigan including Flint. Shoppers are encouraged to buy quickly as liquidation discounts are available for a limited time. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ Target confirmed a new store will open in Davison Township on the northwest corner of South Irish and Lapeer roads; the planned 128,600 sqft space will feature revised parking requirements as part of the shopping plaza redevelopment. MLive
- ➤ Target plans to build a 128,600 sqft supercenter in the growing retail area of Davison Township near Irish and Lapeer roads. Township officials remain under nondisclosure agreements and have not provided details on an opening date. ABC 12
