- ➤ A Flint family will launch Juice Boyz, a mobile convenience store on a converted bus, on January 30 to help residents get essentials. Glenda Dean with her three sons will run the bus Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., serving household items, hot food, drinks + more. ABC 12
- ➤ Flint Farmers’ Market is set to upgrade with a $3.5M grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Improvements will include enclosed vendor spaces, a dedicated food truck area, a centralized bar, and a music stage — all at the downtown market at 300 E. 1st St. MLive
- ➤ Flint organizations are hosting events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from today through Jan. 20, with a tribute dinner at Mott Community College, a community celebration at Flint Public Library, and a keynote breakfast at UM-Flint to promote civic engagement and service. Flint Beat

- ➤ TikTok star Ahmad Alzahabi will open Golden Boy’s at Flint Farmers’ Market starting Saturdays in February with additional service on Tuesdays and Thursdays in March+ The Flint native will offer signature items and online creations at the downtown market off East 1st Street. MLive
- ➤ Value City Furniture will close its Flint Township and Kochville locations this winter after its parent company filed for bankruptcy in November. The chain, which was founded in 1948 and once employed over 3,000 people, is ending its operations. ABC 12

- ➤ Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium now offer new dinosaur exhibits — featuring interactive displays and fossil replicas — that let visitors explore prehistoric life locally. ABC 12

- ➤ Memorial Healthcare opened a new facility at the former Rite Aid at 218 W. Main St. in Flushing on Dec. 23 to offer family medicine, urgent care, lab and radiology services; the pharmacy will open in early February, marking its first Genesee County expansion. MLive
- ➤ Crim Fitness Foundation is kicking off the New Year by hosting a series of races and fitness events in Flint — residents can sign up online using official channels to join in the activities. ABC 12
