- ➤ The Michigan 35-5 chapter of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association will host a New Year's gathering in Davison on Saturday, Jan. 17. The event is set to welcome veterans + community guests for a festive local meet. ABC 12

- ➤ This weekend, Flint residents enjoy a variety of events such as an African American film series at the Flint Institute of Arts on Thursday & a free Tupac documentary at The New McCree Theatre on Saturday, along with bull riding, live music and community celebrations in nearby towns. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sue C. Carnell, a longtime Flint educator and chief deputy superintendent at the state education department, announced she will retire on July 31 + her departure is set to help ease the transition for new leadership. ABC 12
- ➤ The Flint Center for Educational Excellence received $971,850 from Michigan’s 2025–26 Out-of-School Time Grant to expand licensed afterschool and summer programs at 12 school-based locations in Flint. The funding will support more academic instruction and enrichment (ensuring safe, compliant learning environments) for local students. Flint Beat
