- ➤ Genesee County Animal Control in Flint Township asks for straw donations to help keep outdoor pets warm during frigid conditions. A straw tent at 4351 Pasadena Avenue provides supplies + care tips while residents are urged to bring their pets indoors to avoid frostbite. MLive
- ➤ Catholic Charities Shiawassee and Genesee Counties held a rummage sale at Sacred Heart Veteran Village (734 E. Stewart Avenue) on Friday until 4 p.m. Items such as home décor, clothes, toys, and sports gear were available to benefit its transitional housing program. Mid-Michigan Now

- ➤ The University of Michigan-Flint’s student newspaper is back after more than a year’s pause. The paper celebrated its relaunch with a party at Clint’s Cafe in the Harding Mott University Center and is seeking new staff for campus news coverage — including local events, food, and entertainment. - ➤ The National Minority Quality Forum will host a town hall and free mini-clinic for cancer prevention and early detection in North Flint on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Flint Development Center on Martin Luther King Avenue. Registration is 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Flint Beat
- ➤ A man who reportedly suffered a seizure collapsed in downtown Flint on Friday and was found covered in snow near Harrison + 2nd Streets before being rushed to a local hospital. Mid-Michigan Now
