- ➤ Flint Beat received a $260,000 grant from an East Coast nonprofit to boost local government coverage and secure newsroom office space. Founder Jiquanda Johnson said the funding will expand its team by hiring two full-time reporters and support in-depth investigative work. Flint Beat
- ➤ An anonymous caller saved a man who collapsed from seizures last week in dangerously cold weather near Harrison and Second streets; police said EMS transported him to the hospital and urged residents to call 911 if someone appears in distress. ABC 12
- ➤ InvolvedDad, a Flint organization promoting fatherhood, is expanding into Lansing with help from Social Impact Philanthropy & Investment to secure federal funding and shape its operations. - ➤ Former NFL player Malik Taylor is leading The Sanctuary Athletic Club, a 14,000 sqft facility on Reid Road that offers indoor turf and recovery tools in Grand Blanc. The new training center will open by year-end and serve local athletes from Flint, Davison, and Fenton. MLive
