- ➤ The Genesee County Human Trafficking Taskforce held its annual Light Up the Night candlelight vigil at the Genesee County Sheriff's Office to honor trafficking victims and survivors while providing local resource support. - ➤ Tapology, one of the nation’s longest-running tap dance festivals, returns Feb. 5 to 8 in Flint’s Cultural District. - ➤ Flint-born jazz and soul singer Alicia 'Blue Eyes' Renee earned a Grammy nomination for her vocals on Corey Henry and The Treme Funktet's album 'Live at Vaughan’s' and will represent her hometown at the awards ceremony tomorrow at Crypto.com Arena (Los Angeles). MLive

- ➤ Local education leaders and elected officials held a special education forum on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library. Parents and community members discussed learning support services and challenges faced by families. Mid-Michigan Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Hamilton Community Health Network has expanded its Burton Campus with new clinic space in Genesee County — a step to boost local care. The expansion will increase access to health services and support rising community needs. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ Dr. Michael Roebuck of Hurley Medical Center in Flint warns residents that AI health tools should not replace a doctor’s evaluation. He said AI cannot review medical history or perform physical exams (which may lead to unnecessary worry or delay in care). ABC 12
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Mundy Township officials approved rezoning a 40-acre site at 2180 Grand Blanc Road for a housing project with 198 townhouse-style apartments starting at about $2,000 rent. Redwood Living will submit plans next for review so construction may begin in late 2027 or early 2028+ pending community study. MLive
