ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A barn fire at Taylor Farms in Venice Township on Saturday morning destroyed the barn and its contents while causing minor damage to an adjacent house; no injuries were reported.  ABC 12

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local couple Belle and Henry Dearing will soon open Beny's Coffee (1055 N. Irish Road in Davison Township) to offer house-made syrups, coffee blends, baked goods, and merchandise in a welcoming community space built on years of experience from their coffee cart.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Sen. John Cherry warned that funding for Flint water crisis-impacted student support may be cut from Gov. Whitmer's 2027 proposed budget if funds are not spent (by Oct. 1). The Governor’s office says funds remain available but Cherry has yet to receive a clear explanation.  ABC 12
