  • On Saturday, the Olson family held its second annual Nathan Olson Memorial Scholarship Cornhole Tournament at Grand Blanc Lanes to raise funds for skilled trades scholarships and suicide prevention in memory of Nathan Olson, who loved cornhole and dreamed of starting a plumbing and electric business.  ABC 12

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Uncle Ray's Dairyland in Fenton reopened on Valentine's Day after closing on Dec. 30, welcoming customers to enjoy its 48th season of in-house ice cream made in small batches. Co-owner Dave Durant expressed excitement as visitors came from across the state to celebrate the reopening.  ABC 12

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UM-Flint’s Board of Regents approved a $40M expansion for the College of Innovation & Technology, which will add a 40,000 sqft building with advanced labs, classrooms & a mega lab to boost hands-on learning in robotics, AI and other emerging fields. The project will open in 2028 and aims to drive workforce development in Flint.  MLive
