  • Wigland in Flint has suffered roof leaks at its Hallwood Plaza store since December, which damaged eight wigs and spilled water onto inventory while owners urge building management to approve repairs.  ABC 12
  • A popular Caribbean restaurant from Frankenmuth has received approval to open a new Burton location at 1376 E. Bristol Road in the Bristolwood Plaza; it will offer its Caribbean + brunch menu to Genesee County residents soon.  MLive

  • FIM Flint Rep and UM-Flint are joining for 'Lucky Stiff,' a comedy musical running from March 20 through April 4 at the UM-Flint Theatre. The production unites professionals and students in a new partnership + tickets start at $26.  Flint Beat

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A deep dive by Mid-Michigan NOW found that grocery prices stayed near inflation while meat costs in Flint jumped nearly 20% for beef and almost 30% for pork as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted restaurants — University of Michigan Flint Professor Chris Douglass warned that global conflicts might push prices higher.  Mid-Michigan Now

  • Burton Planning Commission approved a plan Tuesday, March 10 for a new Murphy USA gas station and convenience store on Belsay Road near Court Street, where a former Shell station stood. The project calls for a 2,824 sqft building & 14 parking spaces and needs further environmental clearances.  MLive
