  • Catholic Charities in Flint is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day Boxed Lunch Sale today; residents can pay $13 for a meal featuring a corned beef & Swiss cheese sandwich, coleslaw, a cookie, a pickle, & chips to support local charity efforts.  Mid-Michigan Now
  • Flint’s Crim Fitness Foundation and Brown University will launch Courageous Connections on April 8 to connect Black residents and Genesee County police through weekly virtual mindfulness sessions that build communication and stress management skills.   • Lucky’s Steakhouse in Davison Township has been cleared to reopen after a thorough cleaning by the Genesee County Health Department. Fenton Township has imposed a one-year moratorium on data centers to allow its Planning Commission to develop regulations, while a Murphy USA gas station plan received initial approval in Burton.  MLive

  • Flushing High School will host Little Women The Musical from Mar. 20-22. The production promises a fresh take on the classic story (inviting local community members to experience engaging theater), and preparations are underway for exciting performances.  ABC 12
  • Flint promoter Derek EBaller Smith celebrates 23 years in concert promotion with a birthday bash at FIM Capitol Theatre on Sunday, March 22 at 8 p.m. The event blends hip-hop, R&B, comedy and fashion, featuring headliners 42 Dugg and YK Niece.  Flint Beat

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Genesee County Board approved a $24,000 contract amendment on March 11 for extra soil and vapor testing at a former GM site where the Chevy Commons play garden is planned in Flint’s new state park+testing will ensure safe indoor air quality before building the playscape and restroom.  MLive
