- ➤ The Flint Social Club announced it will close its stand at the Flint Farmers' Market on April 5—customers are urged to visit before its final day. The nonprofit has long helped local chefs gain food and business skills so they can launch their own careers. MLive
- ➤ Car enthusiasts will attend Back to the Bricks Tune-Up Week from Aug. 4 to Aug. 9—an event sponsored by Huntington Bank that will feature live music, food vendors, giveaways, and a 50/50 raffle across six cities. Registered drivers will have a chance to win exclusive Tune-Up Party Collector Shirts by checking in at each location. MLive

- ➤ The Flint & Genesee Group held its annual meeting on Tuesday at the FIM Capitol Theatre to review 2024 achievements—including a $6.5 million tourism impact and more than 200 teens placed in summer jobs—and to share future community development plans as it sets its sights on progress through 2026. Keynote speaker KeJuan Wilkins and COO Kristen Johnston addressed nearly 400 attendees and highlighted projects like NanoGraf Corporation's expansion at the Flint Commerce Center. ABC 12

- ➤ At Doyle-Ryder Elementary, Flint Community Schools renamed its library in honor of longtime librarian Sharon Burdt on March 26; the surprise ceremony celebrated her 53 years of service and launched the first-ever Sharon Burdt Day (a new annual event across the district). MLive
- ➤ Mott Community College’s five unions signed a formal complaint alleging that Trustee Janet Couch violated board policies—calling for an investigation into her actions. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said on March 25th that she can account for spending on criminal prosecutions related to the Flint water crisis but noted that a detailed report will take eight weeks to complete. MLive
- ➤ The Genesee County Drain Commission began the Kearsley Creek Interceptor project, a $45 million plan to add 14,357 sewer units for residents and businesses in Genesee and Oakland counties—tree cutting was finished in February and work will complete in 24 months weather permitting. MLive

- ➤ Former Flint-area baseball players use the skills they learned in high school to boost their college teams—Grand Blanc's Lally is playing for Michigan while New Lothrop's Birchmeier competes for Bowling Green in the MAC. MLive
- ➤ The Crim Festival of Races will bring back prize money for the fastest finishers in its 10-mile race—prize money has not been offered since 2015. Top competitors in the men's, women's, wheelers, and hand-cycling groups can earn up to $3,000, and a $5,000 bounty will be given to any athlete who breaks the course record. Mid-Michigan Now
