Jimmy Lee Friend III pleaded guilty to second degree murder, home invasion, and five weapons-related charges after fatally shooting neighbor Brian Devionte Towns at Flint Township apartments on March 7th, 2024 — Genesee Circuit Court sentenced him on March 21st to a minimum of 17 years with an added two-year penalty for a felony firearm charge.
