  • On Friday, local women were honored for their leadership and service during Women’s History Month as Flint held the 2026 Pillar Award ceremony, recognizing their lasting contributions to the community.  Mid-Michigan Now
  • The Ruth Mott Foundation awarded $2.904 million in grants to 16 Flint organizations focused on youth, public safety, economic opportunity, and neighborhood support. The board celebrated its 25th anniversary by engaging residents to shape future community projects (legacy).  MLive

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dark Room Productions presents its annual Twilight Zone LIVE parody show, with episodes 'Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?' and 'After Hours' running April 17-19 & April 24-26 at Flint Local 432 with Friday and Saturday shows at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.; tickets cost $10.  MLive
  • Buckham Gallery hosted its fourth annual Build Your Own Collection fundraiser last night (with live music and hors d'oeuvres) to support local artists. A follow-up event, The Day After, will begin today from noon to 5 p.m. with unsold art available for purchase.  Mid-Michigan Now
  • Local 432 will mark its 40th anniversary with a free concert on April 11 at Factory Two (129 N. Grand Traverse St.) featuring 84 Tigers, Big Donut, Suburban Delinquents and Touch the Clouds, honoring its legacy as an all-ages live music venue.  MLive
  • The University of Michigan-Flint music program staged its annual MusiCollage 2026 concert at the FIM Whiting Auditorium Thursday night, featuring student ensembles and solo performers delivering genre-spanning pieces inspired by the Flint Symphony. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Mundy Township pursued a $261 million megasite plan that cleared over 150 homes near Bishop International Airport to create a factory site, though no company has signed on & details remain unclear. Residents have raised concerns at public meetings as local leaders call for more transparency.  ABC 12

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • MDOT announced that ramps on I-69 will close 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 30 and Friday, April 3 for repair work on 15 structures as part of a $33.5M project. Traffic is expected to use detours via Bristol and Elms roads.  MLive
  • Flint will begin its annual yard waste collection season on April 1 with weekly curbside pickups until Nov. 30 — the city is offering free yard waste bags at Flint City Hall, Mays Senior and Community Center, and McKinley Community Center, allowing up to three bags per visit while supplies last.  ABC 12

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Crim Fitness Foundation will host a daylong wellness retreat to help attendees unplug and reset at its downtown headquarters (719 Harrison St) on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $75 for adults, and the retreat will offer yoga, breathwork and movement with snacks provided.  Flint Beat
