- ➤ Consumers Energy announced that utility bills will increase on April 4 after the Michigan Public Service Commission approved a new rate that lets the company collect an extra $153,809,000. Residential customers using 500 kWh a month will see a $2.78 increase—funds will support tree-trimming efforts and grid improvements to reduce outages. Flint Beat

- ➤ A year-long traffic study along 13 miles of U.S. 23 led Genesee County officials to recommend several roundabouts & road improvements in the Fenton area to ease congestion and improve safety over the next 3 to 10 years. Officials collected traffic counts & public survey responses to guide plans that include short-term projects like traffic signal upgrades and lane improvements. MLive
- ➤ Fenton Township Board approved resolutions on March 18 to support Silver and Marl Lakes Homeowners Association’s plan to remove goose and swan nests and eggs that may spread E. coli in the lakes—local residents have raised concerns over rising waterfowl numbers and contamination issues, and the association will submit permit applications to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for 2025—2029.
