- ➤ Flint’s spring season is starting today with many community events including Edible Flint’s annual seed swap at the MSU Health Building and a guided walking tour in Brush Park at 6:30 p.m.—more activities through May such as art fairs, book sales, Easter egg hunts, tree planting, a volunteer day and a symphony concert will give residents many ways to celebrate the season. - ➤ Hasselbring Senior Center held a ribbon cutting yesterday at its new home — the James E. Kennedy Christian Life Center on West Pierson Road — after a month-long eviction from its nearly 10-year city-owned building. County officials and local leaders continue to support the group while funding, repair disputes, and pending lawsuits remain unresolved. MLive

- ➤ ZZ Top will perform Texas blues-rock at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3 at the FIM Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint. Frontman Billy Gibbons said the band stays true to the blues and will energize blue-collar fans with a high-octane show—reflecting its long career and deep roots in rock. MLive
- ➤ Celebrity Chef Andre Rush will join the Distinguished Chef Series at MCC Culinary Arts Institute on April 2nd & 3rd in Flint. He will show his cooking skills and share recipes with local food fans during the two-day event. ABC 12

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ More than 265,000 utility customers statewide remain without power after severe storms hit on March 30, with Genesee County reporting 15,571 outages. Consumers Energy and other companies expect most power to be restored today — repair crews restored power to 75,000 customers over the storm weekend and are continuing repairs. MLive
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Hurley Medical Center in Flint was named Hospital of the Year 2025 by Gift of Life Michigan for its work in organ and tissue donation (it is the first to secure the honor twice, having been recognized in 2020); the hospital improved its process with over 50 Emergency Department referrals and ranked second statewide in organ donors in 2024.
