- ➤ Johnson Pharmacy, founded by local pharmacist Mark Johnson and his son Joseph, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Tuesday, April 15 at 927 S. Saginaw St – its downtown location is across from the Genesee Circuit Courthouse and Genesee County Jail. The event will feature light refreshments and incentives including a $25 Visa gift card for new customers and a prize drawing for a $100 Visa gift card. MLive

- ➤ Troopers responded to a drive-by shooting on Perry Street in Flint at around 6:45 p.m. on April 1st and arrested four suspects from a Chevrolet Blazer on Dupont Street — seizing illegal firearms including five fully automatic guns — while a victim was hit by gunfire. ABC 12

- ➤ Chef Andre Rush—celebrity chef and military veteran—led culinary events for Mott Community College students on Wednesday with a Future Chef's Lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a book signing at the Capitol Theatre, and will finish the Distinguished Chef Series with the Hands That Feed the Future Gala tonight. - ➤ Flint city officials will demolish a fire-damaged church on Saginaw Street because crumbling walls and falling bricks pose a safety hazard—community block dollars will cover nearly $200,000 in emergency demolition costs. The project will also salvage and refurbish the church’s intact bell—helping preserve a piece of the building’s history. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ The Genesee County Road Commission announced plans to pave busy Green Road in Atlas Township this summer and finish the work in the fall as contractors have cleared trees for the $1.6-million project. An open house will be held on April 10 from 6-7 p.m. at the Atlas Township office to review maps and plans—residents are divided on whether the new pavement will ease travel or speed up traffic. - ➤ Flint City Council met with police and fire department leaders on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming fiscal year budget—police chief Terence Green said the department planned to reduce violent crime and build community ties while fire officials aim to boost recruitment and update facilities.
