- ➤ A dog was left tied outside the YMCA and Crim Foundation building in Flint as neighbors gave it water until police and animal control arrived. The dog is now safe at a shelter until it is ready for adoption—officials say pet owners should seek help instead of abandoning their animals. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ Today, Tigers fans in Flint gathered for a community potluck hosted by Flint Eagles 629 to celebrate the team’s opening day. The event featured ballpark foods (hot dogs, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks), raffles, and live music while proceeds supported the organization. Mid-Michigan Now

- ➤ The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the grant of habeas relief for Omar Pouncy—37, a Genesee County man who represented himself in a 2006 trial for carjacking, armed robbery, and firearm charges. MLive
- ➤ John Fleming is suing Flint Township police and Genesee County deputies for using excessive force in a 2022 encounter—he said he underwent multiple surgeries after being falsely accused of retail fraud. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Flint Community Schools did not receive a request to return COVID relief funds even though the U.S. Department of Education moved up the reimbursement deadline to March 28th—district officials said nearly all approved funds were spent properly.
