- ➤ Area 7 Rotary clubs and the Flint River Watershed Coalition will plant 1,000 trees in four Flint parks on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon—volunteers will receive all supplies needed to boost green spaces and improve air quality. MLive

- ➤ Two candidates for Flint’s Third Ward City Council seat took part in a forum at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle on April 4 — AC Dumas and Richard Jones answered questions on crime reduction, youth gun violence, community-police relations, economic growth, vacant land use, water rates and government transparency. The seat remains open after Councilman Quincy Murphy died on Sept. 29, 2024 and a primary election is set for May 6 with the general election on Aug. 5. Flint Beat
