- ➤ Alumni gathered Friday night at the former Flint Central High School for a balloon release as demolition will begin this month to clear the way for a new high school; Whittier Classical Academy will also be demolished with select elements preserved by the district + the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. - ➤ Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum of Discovery in Flint will host summer camps and workshops for children from pre-kindergarten through high school this summer. Museum members receive discounts (verified upon registration) on the available programs. MLive
- ➤ 148 students from 14 school districts competed in the countywide spelling bee hosted by Genesee Intermediate School District.
