- ➤ The Ruth Mott Foundation held a community forum at the Flint Development Center where residents wrote their feedback on Post-it notes — the foundation will host another session next Tuesday and one on May 6 for those who missed the first meeting. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ Families in Flint and Genesee County are enjoying Easter events today with egg hunts, crafts, and music at local venues including Mount Hope Church, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lighthouse Spirit of God, Burton City Hall Park, and a Golden Ticket Egg Hunt for adults. On Sunday, April 13, a dog egg hunt will be held in Grand Blanc — giving every family a chance to join in the spring celebrations. MLive

- ➤ On Thursday, April 10, a Flint woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover in rural Saginaw County near the intersection of Fergus and Cresswell roads in Albee Township; she drove east, crossed the center line, hit a guardrail, lost control, and was ejected from her vehicle—deputies are investigating the crash. - ➤ Genesee County high school students can register for TeenQuest, a free career readiness and leadership program that prepares teens for summer work through the Summer Youth Initiative. The final session starts Monday, April 14—held at New Standard Academy and Carman-Ainsworth High School—and online registration is available. Flint Beat
- ➤ On April 10, dozens of UM-Flint students gathered at Wilson Park in the cold and rain to protest the closing of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which was rebranded as Wolverine HOPE—no staff cuts are planned. - ➤ The Genesee County Land Bank reached a milestone by demolishing over 1,000 blighted structures in Flint using more than $55 million in local, state, and federal funds—another 900 homes are scheduled for demolition soon as the land bank seeks funds for 1,300 more tagged structures. ABC 12
- ➤ The City of Flint reminds eligible voters that the primary election for the vacant 3rd Ward city council seat is scheduled for May 6. Eligible voters who received absentee ballot instructions may return completed ballots using secured drop boxes + polling precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. - ➤ Geraldine Redmond, board president of the Flint Housing Commission, offered to repay funds from cash advances used for tenant meeting supplies—questions remain over more than $9,000 in unaccounted receipts, and city leaders along with HUD officials are reviewing the issue while Councilman Dennis Pfeiffer seeks further documentation and a removal hearing.
