- ➤ Impact100 Genesee County is accepting nonprofit applications for a $100,000 grant from organizations focused on arts, children, education, environment, recreation and health. Applications are due May 8 and finalists will be announced mid-August with final voting set for Sept 22 (at Factory One in Flint). MLive
- ➤ Hundreds of expecting mothers attended the SOS Maternity Networks Community Baby Shower on Monday in Flint as the network celebrated its 2000th patient and recognized Patient Navigator Kaitlyn Bowie for enrolling many new patients. - ➤ Plain Air Photography owner My Proulx built a 10-year photography business from a $50 wedding gig and now covers concerts, performances and headshots from her studio at Riverbank Arts (400 Saginaw St) while teaching local students. Flint Beat

- ➤ Dark Room Productions will present The Twilight Zone: Live!!! in Flint — a live performance event that offers an interactive, theatrical experience for the community. Details on the date and venue will be shared soon. ABC 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ 24 local employers in Genesee County will hire over 200 TeenQuest graduates for six-week summer work under the Summer Youth Initiative. An invitation-only job fair in May will help students aged 14 to 19 connect with real-life work experience. MLive
- ➤ Michigan is expanding its PreK for All pilot to include home-based child care providers in Genesee and nearby areas — the pilot will add about 75 spaces and offer coaching and support through local Family Child Care Networks, launching in spring and summer. ABC 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Genesee County commissioners postponed the renewal of the 0.968-mill health care tax that funds care for the uninsured. The decision may lead to restructuring or ending the tax with a proposal appearing on the November ballot as officials seek to ease tax burdens—some say it has outlived its purpose. MLive

- ➤ Limitless Male Medical Clinic held a ribbon cutting at its new location at 1303 S Linden Rd., Suite E in Flint Township on Monday, Apr. 13. Founder and CEO Dan Molloy said the clinic, focused on men’s health, will serve patients from Flint and across the Midwest. Mid-Michigan Now
