- ➤ Genesee County Parks is hosting a community indoor garage sale called Trash to Treasure on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Village Millstreet Warehouse at 6140 Bray Rd + admission is $2 while children 12 and under enter free. MLive
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Flint native Mr. B will perform at his 29th Annual Blues Boogie Celebration on Sunday, Apr. 19 at Totem Books (620 W Court St.) in a two-hour blues piano event. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. MLive
- ➤ Country music superstar Keith Urban will headline the ninth annual Ally Community Concert on Aug. 29 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club after The Ally Challenge tournament, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and his performance starting around 8 p.m. ABC 12
- ➤ Flint Zine Fest will take place Saturday, May 2 from noon to 6 p.m. at Factory Two, where artists and makers sell DIY zines. A Zine Artist Spotlight is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 18 at Totem Books with a workshop at Gloria Coles Flint Public Library on Saturday, Apr. 25. Flint Beat

- ➤ Gloria Coles Flint Public Library opened its Teen Tech Center today to offer a space where teens can use gaming laptops, consoles and computers for homework and fun. Library officials say the center was built in response to more teens needing a dedicated area. ABC 12
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Excessive rain in southeast Michigan has raised flood risks today as soils remain saturated from recent downpours — residents in low-lying areas should monitor forecasts while additional thunderstorms may swell creeks and streams. ABC 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Genesee County Road Commission will begin reconstructing Clio Road between Coldwater and Stanley roads on Monday, Apr. 20. The $3.4M project will reduce lanes (from five to three) and lower speeds to 35 mph during early phases, with a detour for southbound traffic in the final stage. MLive
- ➤ A developing sinkhole forced the Genesee County Road Commission to briefly close part of Webster Road between Lake and Farrand roads in Vienna Township as announced Wednesday, Apr. 15. Buses and emergency vehicles still passed (for inquiries, call Mike McPherson). MLive
