- ➤ Flint Handmade’s 18th Annual Spring Craft Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Flint Farmers Market (300 E. First St.) with 21 vendors selling handcrafted items and custom products. The event will feature live music by local artists (free parking available) and free admission. MLive
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At about 11:40 p.m. on April 17th, a 25-year-old motorcyclist from Mt. Morris died at the scene when his 2005 Suzuki was hit by a 19-year-old driver from Flint at the intersection of Saginaw Road and Frances Road in Thetford Township—troopers are investigating the crash. MLive
- ➤ On Friday morning, debris from a truck dropped on southbound I-75 near the I-69 interchange in Flint Township damaged several vehicles—with one Chevrolet Tahoe losing control and hitting a median wall—and no serious injuries were reported as police investigate the source of the object. ABC 12

- ➤ After Big Lots filed for bankruptcy, five Michigan stores will reopen this spring. The Burton, Flint and Shelby Twp. locations will open on May 1st and the Port Huron and Southgate locations will open on May 15th. Mid-Michigan Now

- ➤ Flint man Willie Ray Cummings, Jr., 29, was convicted on eight counts after officers found a ghost gun in his pocket and he punched a deputy during his arrest for riding an unregistered mini bike—he will be sentenced on May 19 and faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison. MLive

- ➤ The Michigan Heroes Museum in Frankenmuth honors veterans by sharing personal stories from service members—including Flint’s Chief Master Sergeant Dwayne Hackney and Eddie Johnson who taught himself to read in boot camp—and now celebrates its 50th anniversary while it will host Capt. Richard Phillips on May 13. This exhibit shows how everyday heroes served our country with honor. ABC 12
