- ➤ Genesee County residents enjoyed free entry to Flint attractions at the 'Be a Tourist in Your Hometown' event on May 10, 2021 — the event provided a passport and wristband for access, free bus routes from Brush Park, and restaurant discounts. - ➤ On April 18, the Arab American Heritage Council hosted the fourth annual MENA Artist Showcase at the Flint Institute of Arts to celebrate Arab American Heritage Month—featuring live music, dance, art and poetry from local artists. - ➤ Genesee County approved initial plans on April 16 to celebrate America’s 250th birthday at Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad—allocating $250,000 from hotel tax funds to guide the event. The county will form a local commission with one member from each of nine districts—and additional representatives from community groups, with appointments made by June 2 that will serve until Sept. 20.
