- ➤ On Thursday, Apr. 23, the City of Flint donated $25,000 to the YWCA to support survivor services during Sexual Assault Awareness Month—funds from ARPA will help expand crisis intervention and housing support for those in Flint and Genesee County. MLive
- ➤ Clio Amphitheater in Clio seeks 15 volunteers to clean up as it gears up for the 2026 Concert Season. Session runs today and will occur on May 2 and May 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 310 Rogers Lodge Drive (bring rakes, leaf blowers, gloves) with online sign-up. MLive

- ➤ The Dapper Barber Company in Davison reopened April 16 at a new location after a fire destroyed its original shop on March 13; no one was injured. Co-owner Eric Cagle thanked the local fire departments & community members for their swift support. MLive

- ➤ Mott Community College is opening a new instructional site at Clio High School this fall to offer four foundational classes (Intermediate Algebra, Fundamentals of Public Speaking, English Composition I, and Principles of Economics-Macro) that save local students travel time; enrollment services remain at the main campus. - ➤ Flint residents remain concerned about water quality 12 years after switching to the Flint River — many still use bottled water as repairs remain incomplete. - ➤ Andrew Younger, executive director at Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, donated his kidney to friend Martin Skaates nine years ago. Skaates says the transplant improved his health and the pair now celebrate kidney-versaries as they mark Donate Life Month. ABC 12
