  • Flint Southwestern students ended the school year on May 11 with a red carpet affair—then they headed to Detroit to celebrate on the Princess Cruise.  Flint Beat

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flint-area news this week include a $12M federal grant for the Flint Mass Transportation Authority to expand services and a lawsuit filed by Mott Community College’s education association over its president search. Voters on May 6 approved four school millages and a tied Flint City Council primary — an activist was jailed after protesting outside Mayor Neeley’s home, a Lapeer teacher was named Michigan Teacher of the Year, and Fenton approved a $1.5M riverwalk project.  MLive
