- ➤ Michigan DNR will host its annual Hunters of Color event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mott Park Recreation Area (2401 Nolen Drive) to introduce underrepresented groups to hunting through live demonstrations, education, and vendors. ABC 12
- ➤ Three Mid-Michigan organizations received nearly $100,000 grants from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to purchase refrigerated vans for delivering fresh produce to food deserts — with Asbury Community Development Corp in Flint, Shiawassee Family YMCA in Owosso, and S.J. Organic Farms in Peck named recipients. ABC 12
- ➤ The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan will run its Summer Feeding Program soon to provide meals for Flint residents. The program was announced on May 14 + will offer food at local distribution centers. ABC 12

- ➤ Today, the Flint Institute of Arts holds a free preview for M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations featuring over 140 works. The event includes a lecture at 6 p.m. + an opening reception at 7 p.m., and the exhibition runs May 16 to Sept. 13 at 1120 E. Kearsley St. MLive
- ➤ FIM Flint Repertory Theatre will end its season with Green Day's American Idiot musical, which runs from May 29 to June 14 at the University of Michigan-Flint Theatre (327 E Kearsley, Flint). - ➤ Flint mail carriers took part in dog bite prevention training with professional trainer Hector Hernandnez at the Sectional Delivery Center on Thursday, May 14 — the session comes as the USPS reported more than 6,000 dog attack incidents on carriers last year. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ MDOT posted a final 24-hour notice on May 6 near Center Road and I-69 after complaints about a single camper, and by May 14 Flint blight workers had cleaned the area which now shows only litter and personal items. The city teams with local groups to offer shelter and support. MLive
- ➤ Michigan police will enforce seat belt laws as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign starting Monday, May 18 until the end of the month — extra officers will check that everyone buckles up to help reduce injuries on the roads. ABC 12
