- ➤ Diamond S Cattle Co. will host Bullnanza at The Agriplex in Genesee County on Saturday, May 31. Local residents can attend to experience cattle demonstrations and related activities. ABC 12
- ➤ Residents are invited to share input today from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library on play garden designs for the new state park at Chevy Commons—Michigan’s 104th state park and the first in Genesee County. The meeting lets locals review renderings and ask questions to help shape the project as part of the Building Michigan Together Plan. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Michigan State Police trooper shot and killed a 49-year-old man during a May 14 search warrant at a Montrose Township home and recovered two shotguns, three rifles, one handgun, cocaine, scales and cash+ a 47-year-old woman was injured while three others were detained as part of a narcotics investigation. - ➤ University of Michigan is offering free Google Career Certificates and AI training to students at its Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses. Over 66,000 enrolled students can sign up via Michigan Online to gain skills in cybersecurity, data analytics and digital marketing — a step aimed at boosting their job readiness. MLive

- ➤ The EPA lifted its emergency order on Flint’s water system on Monday—after nine years of upgrades that brought lead levels below required standards—and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy will now oversee the city’s continued compliance with safe drinking water laws.
