Officials advise using a filter for at least six months after a service line is replaced — a reminder of ongoing water safety concerns — as rebuilding trust in the water system continues. - ➤ 19-year-old Cordell Allen Jr. pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon without a permit during a shootout on June 25th at Hilton Lane in Beecher and was sentenced to 36 months probation — he must work at least 30 hours a week and pay $198 in court fees. ABC 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Flint Community Schools announced a commitment bonus of up to $12,000 for new certified general education and special education teachers and ancillary staff after board approval. Current employees can earn a $350 referral bonus for recruiting eligible hires — the district also highlighted strong mentorship and professional development opportunities. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ The Mott Community College Board approved a permanent contract for Interim President Shaunda Richardson-Snell in a 4–3 vote on May 19—providing a $255,000 base salary, a $30,000 merit bonus and a $900 monthly car allowance.
