COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 6th annual Flint Soap Box Derby took place on May 22 in Flint and featured local racers + family fun. The event brought the community together with spirited competition on the course.  ABC 12
  • Mundy Sportsplex in Mundy Township is hosting its Memorial Day Weekend Bounce Bash for kids — a fun event with inflatables, music, and games. It runs today and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 5431 Hill 23 Drive.  Mid-Michigan Now
  • Flint's Public Health Office hosted a free Lunch and Learn at Mays Senior and Community Center on Thursday to help seniors learn estate and life planning. Genesee County Prosecuting Attorney Ashley Prew led the talk about probate and answered legal questions — more sessions will follow in June and July.  ABC 12
  • Roller Skating in the Park returns to Flint tomorrow at Max Brandon Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature food, vendors, games, a live DJ and skating to help build community and reduce violence.  Mid-Michigan Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Sloan Museum of Discovery is hosting The Lost World of Dragons exhibition with life-sized animatronic dragons and interactive activities through Sept. 13—Genesee County residents pay $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 for youth while members enter free.  Mid-Michigan Now
  • Tapology Inc. will host its Summer Tap Intensive from July 27 to 31 on the UM-Flint campus with eight national tap artists and three alumni instructors. The event ends on July 31 with a free presentation of the documentary Matters of the He(A)rt (celebrating 25 years of the program).  MLive

  • Flint Style Soccer will host the Empowering Women in Soccer: Flint Style 2026 Girls Clinic on May 31 at Atwood Stadium. Flint natives Carrie Taylor and Molly DeMarr will lead sessions in skills, wellness, and leadership for girls (grades 1-12).  MLive
