- ➤ Flint residents held the second annual 'Silence the Violence' walk Saturday afternoon to honor those lost to gun violence. The walk started at (the Sylvester Broome Building) and ended at (Dewey Park on Saginaw Street) as speakers Actor Hill Harper and Pastor Barry Randolph urged community change. ABC 12
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Flint police are investigating a homicide after a 33-year-old man died at a hospital on May 23 from gunshot wounds found on the 500 block of W. Newell St. (Officers arrived around 12:30 p.m.) and are asking anyone with information to come forward. MLive
- ➤ Three local deputies were awarded by the Police Officers Association of Michigan for their brave actions during a fatal shooting in Clio (spring 2024). Mid-Michigan Now

- ➤ More than 40 Doyle-Ryder Elementary students from third to sixth grade brought Cinderella to life in Flint after eight weeks of rehearsals by performing three shows for classmates, friends, and family. The production, part of the school’s annual spring show, gave the kids a creative outlet — a key way to engage with the arts. MLive
- ➤ The Levitt AMP Flint Music Series will start next week on May 27 with the LowDown Brass Band performing on the back lawn of Totem Books from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The free series, supported by a $30,000 grant from the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation — matched by community contributions and local sponsors — will also feature food trucks, games and community resources.
