- ➤ Flint’s Safe and Clean Summer Youth Initiative is starting its second year with jobs, peer mediation training, and community activities to help local youth. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Flint police are looking for a suspect who stole a front end loader from a construction site at the intersection of Dort Highway and Pierson Road early last week and drove it through a safety fence to damage a water treatment facility, a former funeral home and a market—causing about $1 million in damage. - ➤ A juvenile male died and two adult males remain critically injured after a triple shooting in Flint's north side on Sunday near Martin Luther King Avenue when they arrived by private vehicle at Hurley Medical Center. ABC 12
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The 58th annual Flint Art Fair will take place at Flint Institute of Arts on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature over 100 juried artists, live music from Dan Devins and the Blues Delegation on Saturday and Rodeo Drive on Sunday, food trucks, and a children’s art area — admission is $5 for those 12 and older, with free entry for children and dads on Sunday. - ➤ Bugpin Tattoo Studio in downtown Flint was opened by artist Kelly Martin in December 2024 to offer an inclusive and private space for custom tattoos and community art events.
