COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Protesters gathered in several Mid-Michigan towns on Saturday for the 'No Kings' protests, with close to 1,000 people meeting at the intersection of Linden and Lennon roads in Flint Township (a key spot for the demonstration). Smaller rallies also took place in Mount Pleasant, Midland, and Bay City as organizers called for unity and humanitarian action. ABC 12
- ➤ Over the weekend, the Midwest Invitational Rodeo returned to the Genesee County Fairgrounds, where top African American athletes competed in bull riding, steer wrestling, and barrel racing. Earlier Saturday, the fairgrounds hosted a free EmpowerMENt Health & Wellness Fair (organized with Genesee Health System) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. ABC 12
- ➤ The Miracle League of Greater Flint held its opening day games Saturday at the Miracle Commons in Mundy Township, starting a (10-game season) for children with physical or cognitive disabilities. - ➤ Nuevo Vallarta will open its second Mexican restaurant at 2500 W. Hill Road in Mundy Township later this month as it brings its popular Tex-Mex menu from its Grand Blanc location — serving fajitas, birria tacos, quesadillas, burritos and a rainbow margarita. The restaurant will operate seven days a week with family-friendly hours. MLive

- ➤ A 48-year-old woman from Genesee died when a 2015 Jeep Cherokee hit her motorcycle near Outdoor Adventures in Richfield Township Friday night—police say the driver fled the scene after pulling out of the campground driveway. ABC 12

- ➤ The Flint Police Department mourned Sergeant Norm Hoydic, who passed away after serving 37 years—his smile and dedication will be remembered as his family and colleagues received heartfelt support. ABC 12
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The first-ever Miracle League baseball games took place Saturday morning at Mundy Miracle Commons on West Hill Road and began at 10 a.m. The event gave 63 players and their families a chance to play on a team and wear baseball uniforms—Bernie Romain of the Miracle League of Greater Flint said community support made the day possible.
