COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 24th annual Unity March Against Violence took place Saturday afternoon at Wilson Park on the University of Michigan-Flint campus and was organized by WOW Outreach. Over 20 community partners participated in the march, which was followed by a resource fair and Gospel Explosion from 1 to 4 p.m.—the event aimed to bring the community together to address local violence.  ABC 12

  • A family from overseas has opened Goodfellas Pizzeria on Fenton Road in South Flint Plaza — serving homemade New York style pizzas with fresh, top-quality ingredients; owner Nick Juncaj said he hopes the restaurant will boost local energy and drive community turnout.  MLive

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 53rd Annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair has begun at Flint Cultural Center featuring a 'Rare Rides' showcase that includes a custom vehicle built for King Edward under Alfred P. Sloan Jr.'s supervision—hundreds of show cars, antique tractors, and classic motorcycles support the Sloan Museum’s mission, and the event continues today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music, food, and activities for kids.  ABC 12

SPORTS NEWS

  • Owosso senior Carson Moore and Goodrich senior Cross Darby earned Division 2 second-team all-state honors from the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association — capping their high school baseball careers.  MLive
  • Owosso freshman Eli Worthington won the New Balance Nationals shot put title with a record-breaking throw that gave him a six-foot lead—he also placed ninth in the discus among the nation's top freshmen.  MLive
