- ➤ Downtown Flint hosted its 13th annual EDM festival on Saturday, August 9, with 10 stages, silent disco sections and vendors filling the streets. The event showcased local and regional artists — including young producer Knox Boogie — and offered a day of energy and self-expression for the crowd. MLive

- ➤ Flint Community Schools named Dr. Natoya Coleman as the new Chief Innovation Officer to strengthen leadership and plan projects including the new Central High School and an improved STEM curriculum—from early childhood to eighth grade. She will work with Superintendent Jones to share daily responsibilities and drive the district forward. MLive

- ➤ In downtown Flint, a police officer pepper sprayed several food truck customers and arrested a worker as caught on video by 58-year-old Debra Coleman.
