More than 20 local organizations will gather at Mott Community College in Flint on Friday, Aug.

22 for a free community resource fair connecting Genesee County residents with employment, housing, healthcare, and other support services — the event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1401 E. Court St.

Hand of Hope will offer a total of $10,000 in grants to Flint non-profits by awarding one $5,000 grant and five $1,000 grants—community members can vote on the recipients in response to federal funding cuts.

The community vote will help decide which organizations get the needed support.
