- ➤ Bikes on the Bricks will take place downtown from Friday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 7. The motorcycle show, marking its 18th year, will offer T-shirt sales, beer tents, live music and police-escorted rides—drawing riders and fans together for a busy weekend. MLive
- ➤ On Sunday, attendees enjoyed a dessert festival at Mott Park that ran until 8 p.m. and featured vendors offering free samples and full-sized treats while supporting Men Motivating Men Worldwide—a nonprofit focused on mentorship and community empowerment. ABC 12
- ➤ Flint-area news shows MSU opening a new 40,000-square-foot public health facility in downtown Flint—completed after a year and a half of work—as local residents criticize a Metro Police Authority ICE agreement. Other updates include a potential Labor Day nurse strike at Genesys Hospital, the county’s first West Nile virus case found in a bird in Flushing, early morning home invasions in Thetford Township, and plans to replace two deteriorating bridges in Flint with work expected to begin in 2027. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, Flint City Hall hosted an overdose awareness event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—organizers displayed purple flags to honor lives lost and white flags to mark lives saved as part of harm reduction efforts. The Office of Public Health and Genesee County Prevention Coalition led the event, providing free Narcan kits and training while urging residents to call 810-410-2020 for recovery resources. ABC 12
