- ➤ On August 30, a fire severely damaged St. Mark Outreach Community Center at 3020 Dupont St when someone allegedly set the fire around 2:30 a.m., and fire crews arrived at 2:55 a.m.—church officials said they are working with the ATF and local fire department to complete the investigation. MLive

- ➤ Flint Community Schools is offering new teachers a $12,000 sign-on bonus for certified teachers and $24,000 for special education teachers to help meet growing enrollment demands this academic year—measures that support improved classroom staffing. - ➤ Payment letters for more than 25,000 people with approved Flint water crisis claims are expected to come later this fall as the review process continues.
