  • Motorcycles took over downtown Flint during the Bikes on the Bricks event on September 6th—riders filled the streets and brought local energy to the area.  Mid-Michigan Now

  • The Pig and The Hen celebrated its one-year anniversary in August and serves food made with local ingredients at its 1072 Elms Road location in Clayton Township. The restaurant offers brunch daily and dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with happy hour specials on Friday and Saturday—showing its focus on quality, local flavors.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Genesee County Board of Commissioners approved a plan on Sept. 3 that gives 16 senior centers a 5% funding boost for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1. A nine-member task force will deliver recommendations by July 1 to guide future millage spending + address funding debates.  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Davison's three-player rushing team helped the offense + the defense stood strong to secure a 23-21 win over Warren De La Salle in week 2 high school football.  MLive
  • Quarterback Landon Mattis led Bendle with 204 passing yards, two touchdowns and eight tackles as his team improved to 2—0. At Kearsley, Riley Lewis rushed for 145 yards, scored a touchdown and made seven tackles to help his team secure a one-point win.  MLive
  • Davison defeated Warren De La Salle 23—21 on Sept. 5 during a high school football game that saw a tie at 14 and a late fourth-quarter push with a recovered onside kick. Senior quarterback Jaxson Dosh and running back Anthony Bitonti led the scoring throughout the match.  MLive
  • Twenty-five dogs and their handlers competed in the 7th Annual K9 Frisbee Toss and Fetch Worldwide Championship at the Disc Dogs of Michigan Field on Saturday — dogs chased frisbees to score points while top finalists received treats, medals, toys, and bones.  Mid-Michigan Now
