- ➤ On Thursday, a resource expo was held on the front lawn of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office to help people impacted by the justice system access job placement, resume assistance, and food—giving them a chance to rebuild their lives. Captain Jallian Macey said the event provided crucial support to keep participants on the right path. ABC 12
- ➤ Burtucky Days kicked off in Burton on Thursday and will continue through Sunday—featuring a parade from Blessed Sacrament to Captain's Quarters on Belsay Road—with live music, food trucks, games, and a dunk tank where the police chief is scheduled to participate at 6 p.m. ABC 12
- ➤ Long Family Orchard and Farm in Commerce Township has built a 5-acre corn maze that features Amon-Ra St. Brown’s famous headstand—fans and families can visit on Saturdays and Sundays until the weekend before Thanksgiving, with admission at $20. This maze celebrates the wide receiver’s memorable play and offers fun activities for all ages. MLive

- ➤ Second Street Learning in Flint is hosting open houses from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday—Wednesday to boost enrollment, and Todd Hartley said families must bring proof of residency, immunization records, and a birth certificate as registration remains open until October 1. Mid-Michigan Now

- ➤ On Sept. 18, Genesee County commissioners reviewed a new EMS study that shared raw data on ambulance runs—offering suggestions to improve the patchwork system. Commissioners said the study will guide future updates—aimed at reducing long waits and unequal care. MLive

- ➤ LakeVille Memorial senior cross-country runner Tyler Leach reclaimed his title by finishing first at the MMAC Jamboree #1 on September 9 with a time of 16:22.2 — earning him Flint-area Athlete of the Week honors. MLive
- ➤ Madilyn Sheerin shot a 42 to lead Goodrich's girls golf team—teammates Brookelyn Webb and Leighton Schell each recorded a 45—in a tri-match win over Holly and Swartz Creek on September 18. MLive
