- ➤ Flint officials dedicated Haskell Community Center’s athletic field as Coach Glen Kelly Field to honor his decades of mentoring youth through sports—teaching teamwork, discipline, and integrity. The field will host future programs such as NFL flag football and lacrosse while the center is updated to offer expanded community services. ABC 12
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, the Pray 4 My Hood event filled Ballenger Park with music and ministry as Christian rap artist Dr. Charles Stanley hosted it for the second year to share hope and a positive path for local youth—he said the event aimed to offer a better alternative to violent music. The event ran from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Dupont Street and brought a wave of inspiration to the community. ABC 12
- ➤ The 31st annual Golden Memories Car Show took place Sunday at the Sloan Museum campus in Flint—featuring original or authentically restored vehicles made in 1975 or earlier, along with a Suitcase Swap Meet and an Owner’s Choice Award. Drivers enjoyed free entry to both the show and museum with discounts offered at the gift shop. ABC 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rev. Paul St. Louis is leading a push to have the state designate the drive from Flint to Saginaw as a scenic byway — the proposed route runs from M-54 at I-69 to M-13 in Saginaw and highlights historical sites and local attractions. Local officials and business groups back the project, which may receive new funding and signage when approved. MLive
