Good morning, Flint.

After Sunday's mass shooting in Grand Blanc Township, several local groups are offering support to affected families—The Salvation Army set up a staging area for hydration, food and emotional care, Journey Through the Seasons Mental Wellness Services provides free grief counseling on Monday and Tuesday, and Cupcakes and Kisses Grand Blanc donates a portion of its sales.

Flint-area news this week features a new comic book about 10-year-old Kaden Stevenson who lost his legs to the flu and is now portrayed as a superhero—alongside the Flint City Council electing a new president after a long deadlock and other local developments on police cooperation, deer control, and a senior center opening. Local leaders continue to address these diverse concerns as they work to improve community life.
