- ➤ Today, Flint City Council is set to review a $39,970 grant proposal from EGLE to purchase a specially trained canine—one that works faster and cheaper than lab tests—to detect human waste in storm drains and outfalls and help keep local waterways safe. If approved, the program will also support nearby communities in tracing pollution in streams including the Flint River. MLive
- ➤ Flint City Council is voting today on a proposal to require elected officials to take drug tests when on city property or doing city business—The measure aims to ensure officials remain sober during work but faces opposition from Councilwoman Burns and concerns over enforcement raised by the ACLU. - ➤ Flint city officials are seeking Council approval for budgets and funding applications for the McKinley and Mays senior centers during today's City Council meeting. The process follows an earlier funding request that county officials turned down—due to incomplete documentation—and now sets budgets at $132,923 for McKinley and $176,003 for Mays. MLive
