  • A $2,500 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest in the shooting death of Jacquis Lanier Calhoun Jr. in Flint.  MLive
  • A suspect involved in multiple armed robberies at Walgreens in Genesee County has been arrested and faces several charges, including armed robbery and fleeing.  Mid-Michigan Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against Flint officials, finding no violation of First Amendment rights for a woman denied recording a city council meeting.  MLive
  • Genesee County is moving forward with plans to borrow up to $21.5 million for capital improvements, including repairs to the county jail's facade to address safety concerns from falling bricks.  MLive
  • The Genesee County Board of Commissioners delays the purchase of Canadian-built GM vehicles to reassess adherence to a previous commitment to buy only U.S.-made vehicles.  MLive
  • The Flint City Council is nearing approval of a plan to eliminate $32 million in medical debt for 13,000 residents, funded by a combination of city and state funds.  ABC 12
  • Flint is allocating $3.3 million from its American Rescue Plan Act funds to repair sidewalks damaged by tree roots, involving sidewalk assessments, tree services, and repaving work.  ABC 12
