- ➤ FLINT, Mich. — The Ruth Mott Foundation Board of Trustees selected Sue Peters as its new president after a national search; Peters, the vice president of community impact at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, will begin her role on Nov. 3 as former president Raquel Thueme stays temporarily to aid a smooth leadership transition. - ➤ Bella Trix, a five-year-old dog, spent the past year moving in and out of Genesee County Animal Control after arriving in November 2024 and is now ready for adoption. She is cheerful, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and needs to be the only pet in her new home. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ Communities in Genesee County have set trick-or-treat hours for Halloween Oct. 31. Flint residents can trick-or-treat from 4 to 8 p.m.—other areas have scheduled hours ranging from 5 to 8 p.m. MLive
- ➤ The Sacred Heart Veteran Village in Flint held a ribbon cutting on Monday, October 20 to mark the opening of transitional housing and a resource center for local veterans — a tour of the new units was provided and Catholic Charites expects the first four units to be occupied by year’s end.
