GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Community members and firefighters supported fire chief Jamie Jent at a Grand Blanc Township board meeting on Oct. 28 after he was placed on leave for raising concerns about low staffing following a deadly church fire on Sept. 28. The board removed plans to fire him and will review fire operations and the budget at a later meeting while Deputy Chief Kent Maricle runs the department—Jent said he would not break federal labor laws.
