- ➤ Cove's 2nd Annual Toy Drive will donate toys to children at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. ABC 12
- ➤ Genesee County Animal Control is partnering with the Bissell Pet Foundation to offer $10 adoptions for dogs and cats through December 15 during the Empty the Shelters event. Genesee County residents pay an additional $10 dog license fee and each pet is spayed or neutered and microchipped — readying them for new homes. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ After more than a decade of planning, the North Flint Food Market opened on Nov. 12 and city council approved $150,000 in federal stimulus funds on Nov. 24 to cover startup expenses—supporting over 900 co-op members who now have a say in the store. Local leaders, including Councilwoman Tonya Burns, backed the funding as a boost to the community. MLive

- ➤ Sloan Museum of Discovery launched two new exhibits in the Durant Gallery—one honoring Flint’s Soap Box Derby history and one featuring classic cars kept by local owners. The Soap Box Derby exhibit shows original derby cars, a mini racetrack and an interactive screen while free admission is offered for Genesee County residents. Flint Beat

- ➤ Insight Urgent Care opened its South Flint facility in September 2022 to fill a gap by offering same-day urgent and occupational health services on Flint’s south side. The clinic at 4800 S. Saginaw St. provides care from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily—offering services such as X-rays, lab work, and affordable physicals with direct referrals to specialists. Flint Beat
- ➤ Warming centers opened in Genesee County to give residents shelter from dropping temperatures; Catholic Charities checks in men and single men with children at 6:00 p.m.—doors lock at 7:00 while Center for Hope and Shelter of Flint serve other groups with meals and shelter based on capacity and weather.
