- ➤ On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Flint Motorcycle Club will host the 65th Annual Indoor Motorcycle Ice Races at Dort Financial Center (doors open at 6 p.m. with races starting at 7 p.m.), raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County. More than 2,000 spectators are expected as adult and youth racers compete for prize money. MLive

- ➤ The Flint Cultural Center is holding its 40th annual Holiday Walk today and is turning the campus into a winter wonderland. - ➤ Genesee County government may add a chief strategic growth officer today to lead work on economic development — including efforts to expand high-speed internet and redevelop the Genesee Valley Center. The Finance Committee will review the proposal with plans to fill the position by early next year as officials aim to boost regional growth. MLive

- ➤ A new psychiatric hospital opened in Flint on December 2 and now accepts patients who need both in-patient medical and psychiatric care—Insight Psychiatric Hospital is Genesee County’s first dual-diagnosis unit and takes referrals from public safety agencies, local hospitals and community clinics. - ➤ Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, a Flint doctor and president of the American Medical Association, warned that colds, COVID-19 and other viruses are spreading as cold weather sets in today.
